Costa Rica slashes taxes on imported electric cars

Costa Rica which has long been an environmental leader in the region has brought into force a  regulation that grants tax benefits on imports of electric cars that will help final prices to fall between $5,000  and $10,000 per unit.

With the announcement several additional measures become effective.  Among them: exoneration of spare parts for electric vehicles, exoneration of equipment for assembly and production of electric vehicles, exoneration of parking meter payments, exemption from taxes for parts for recharging centers.”
